WHOOP 4.0 combines our latest technology with an improved design, advanced coaching, and all-new health monitoring. Welcome to the next generation of WHOOP.
The new WHOOP 4.0 is 33% smaller than the 3.0. It has 4x the number of photodiodes and 5 LEDs, including green, red, and infrared light-emitting diodes for enhanced accuracy. It also includes haptic technology to wake you up without a noisy alarm–it transmits light vibrations to make waking up more refreshing and less intrusive to those around you.
The 4.0 battery pack is a smaller, smarter, and waterproof wireless charger. There’s no longer any need to worry about wearing it in the shower, and it also lets you know how much power it has left.
Hear from one of our first members, Michael Phelps, who started wearing WHOOP back in 2014:
The new SuperKnit band is the most comfortable and durable band we’ve made yet, available in dozens of colors. And now, changing bands has never been easier as our Fast Link system allows you to quickly slide them on and off the sensor.
Just back from winning a gold medal, here’s world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda:
And here’s pro golfer Nick Watney sharing a personal story of why monitoring respiratory rate is so valuable in the time of COVID-19:
With an overview featured directly on the app home page, the new Health Monitor displays key vitals all in one place, including live heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, and two metrics new to the WHOOP 4.0: Blood oxygen level and skin temperature.
If any of these metrics are outside of your typical baseline range, the Health Monitor uses a color-coded system (green, orange and red) to alert you that something may be amiss.
Additionally, the Health Monitor allows you to download PDFs showing 30-day and 180-day trend reports of your stats that can be shared with a coach, trainer or physician.
The Sleep Coach with haptic alerts has three options to gently and silently wake you up based on your sleep needs–either at an exact time of your choosing, when you’ve hit your desired sleep goal, or when your recovery is in the green.
Here’s renowned author and speaker Tony Robbins:

Executives who accrued sleep debt show reduced cognitive functioning, whereas increased deep sleep improved performance on mental control tasks: McKinsey Executive Leadership Program Study
WHOOP Body with Any-Wear Technology lets you wear your WHOOP 4.0 in multiple places around your body. This revolutionary new system is the first step in making wearable technology invisible.
We are releasing two WHOOP Body collections–our Training Collection featuring sports bras, compression tops, leggings, shorts, and athletic boxers, and our Intimates Collection which includes bralettes and everyday boxers.
In all of these garments, the WHOOP sensor slides into a discrete pod that holds it close to your skin and seamlessly allows it to capture your data.
Here’s world-champion diver and Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley with more on WHOOP Body:
Something we love to do at WHOOP is celebrate iconic moments in sports. By integrating performance data directly into live sports broadcasts and replays, we’re adding an entirely different dimension to live sports.
Plus, all of our members have WHOOP Live right in the app. You can tap the camera icon in the menu bar to overlay real-time data onto your own videos and share them on social media with the hashtag #WHOOPLive!
Here’s American track-and-field star and Olympic silver and bronze medalist Gabby Thomas:
Later today we’ll release an episode of the WHOOP Podcast diving more into the technology behind WHOOP 4.0.
For current members, we’re also hosting an AMA via the WHOOP app where we’ll answer your questions. Check it out from the Community tab in the app’s menu bar.
Additionally, here’s more on everything that’s new with WHOOP 4.0.
We’ve long said that hardware should be included with your membership, and that spirit rings true with the release of WHOOP 4.0.
Current members with 6 or more months left on their membership will receive a free WHOOP 4.0–just request one in the app. If you have fewer than 6 months remaining on your membership, we just ask that you extend it and we’ll send you the 4.0 for free. Again, this can be done through your WHOOP app.
Existing WHOOP members will be the first in line to get WHOOP 4.0s.
New members will also receive a free WHOOP 4.0 when signing up for 6 months or more. You can visit our website and join now.
Finally, with the launch of WHOOP 4.0 we’re introducing a new membership option: WHOOP Pro. For $12 a month, WHOOP Pro members will get a free accessory item each quarter (your choice of bands, WHOOP Body apparel, battery packs, WHOOP Pro gear and more), 20% off everything in the WHOOP Store as well as free shipping on all orders, plus early access to new releases.
Current members can sign up for WHOOP Pro while upgrading in the account section of their app, or in the WHOOP Store. New members can sign up for WHOOP Pro when they join.
