WHOOP Labs FAQs

Do I need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate?

We recognize that the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and the spread of the Omicron variant is concerning to many members of our team and study participants. WHOOP Labs requires all study participants to be fully vaccinated at the time of their study. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as having received your final dose of an FDA authorized vaccine at least two weeks prior to the date of your study. Booster shots are highly encouraged but not required at this time.

Do I need to wear a mask during the study?

WHOOP Labs currently requires masks to be worn when indoors when participating in a study at a WHOOP Labs location. We do not require masks to be worn during outdoor studies.

How do I cancel or reschedule my study?

Changes to your study reservation can be made through the Calendly link in your calendar invite. We ask that cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 24 hours in advance of your study so that we can make the slot available for other participants

How long does a study take?

Studies range anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours, depending on type and are specified in the study detail page. The majority of studies take 1 hour to complete.

Do I need to be really fit to join a study?

No! We are looking for study participants of all fitness levels and abilities. If a study requires a specific technical skillset, it will be noted in the the study detail page.

What do I need to wear or bring to my study?

If you are signed up for a study that requires physical activity, please come dressed to workout with sneakers or bring things to change into. If you are signed up for a study that does not require physical activity, please come dressed in whatever is comfortable for you. If a study requires specific attire or equipment outside of these recommendations, we will disclose that in the study description when you sign up.

Are there group studies or only individual?

We run both group and individual studies. Specific information on the nature of a study can be found on the study detail page.

Why do I need to fill out forms to participate?

Understanding demographic criteria of our study population is an important component of our research. Participants will be asked to provide this information at the time of their study, and complete a number of short forms acknowledging the confidential nature of our work, participant liability, and participant consent.
