How to Use WHOOP Coach: Unlock Personalized, AI-Powered Insights for Health and Performance

You could search endlessly for answers about your health, fitness, and performance — or you could ask WHOOP Coach.
WHOOP Coach doesn’t just respond to your questions. It connects the dots in your data, keeps track of what you’ve shared, and proactively guides you with insights across sleep, strain, recovery, and more.
How does it work?
With proprietary algorithms, a custom-built machine learning model, and the latest in science and research, WHOOP uses your unique biometrics to identify patterns and connections in your data. WHOOP generates highly individualized, conversational responses to your health, fitness, and wellness questions all within seconds, powered by OpenAI’s latest technology.
Guidance that evolves with you
WHOOP adapts not only to your data, but also to the details you share. Whether you’re training for a race, recovering from an injury, managing a busy work schedule, or adjusting to travel, WHOOP takes this context into account to provide guidance that fits your life. Over time, coaching will grow more specific, more actionable, and more personal to you.
You’re always in control. You can update or turn off WHOOP Coach memory at any time in your settings.
How is this different from other AI?
Most health guidance is based on information that might not apply to you, your body, and your goals. Unlike most AI platforms that rely on generic information, WHOOP combines 24/7 biometric data with the context you share about your goals and routines. How do I use it?
You choose what you want to focus on, or where you need more support, and WHOOP will coach you based on your body and your goals. Get individualized insights, workout recommendations, nutrition coaching, fitness plans, and more. Chat with WHOOP whenever you want, about whatever you want. Over time, WHOOP will continue to refine its recommendations based on what works for you. WHOOP will continue to leverage the latest in generative AI to provide the best coaching experience possible.
How to access WHOOP Coach
You can start using WHOOP Coach from your Home screen or directly from key app areas like Sleep, Strain, and Recovery. In each, you’ll see suggested prompts and pre-curated questions that make it easy to explore insights, coaching, and summaries without having to type in your own question, though you can do that too. WHOOP Coach will respond by evaluating your personal WHOOP data, that of the WHOOP community, and the latest performance science and research. Within seconds, you’ll get a completely customized answer. WHOOP Coach will also keep a log of any questions you ask if you want to revisit them in the future. If you’d rather not use the feature, you can turn it off in the More tab.
You can always turn off WHOOP Coach from the More tab>App Settings>WHOOP Coach (iPhone) or More tab>WHOOP Coach (Android). To customize your data preferences, tap into “Coaching Mode” in this same path. To delete WHOOP Coach chat data, contact us via support.whoop.com, support@whoop.com, or go to the More tab > Membership Services > Contact Us [bottom of screen] in the WHOOP app. To delete specific conversations, tap the chat icon in WHOOP Coach to view your conversation history and swipe left on conversations you would like to delete.
Daily Outlook: Your AI-powered daily guide
Powered by WHOOP Coach, Daily Outlook gives you a comprehensive view into your metrics and helps you plan for the day ahead with personalized recommendations, insights, and coaching. Check by tapping into your notifications on your home screen and follow the prompts to see recommendations on exercise, recovery, hydration, nutrition, and more. Based on your daily metrics, Daily Outlook gives you the most accurate and up-to-date insights to help you track towards your goals and unlock your best.
How it works:
- Provides personalized activity recommendations based on your strain, recovery, and Healthspan insights.
- Uses GPS and weather data to determine outdoor workout conditions (heat, humidity, air quality, wind, and more).
- Predicts energy levels and optimal training times based on your biometric history.
Day in Review: A look back to get ahead
Day in Review gives you a daily snapshot of your key metrics and behaviors, including Strain, Recovery, Sleep, and logged activities. From bedtime consistency to stress levels, Day in Review highlights patterns that can help you improve your sleep hygiene.
You’ll also get personalized sleep recommendations to guide your evening routine and support better rest.
Use it to track trends, adjust habits, and build a healthier sleep rhythm over time. To access it, head to your Home tab and scroll through your daily summary.
Your privacy with WHOOP Coach
Your conversations with WHOOP Coach will not be accessed without your consent and your data is not stored with 3rd parties. When you use WHOOP Coach, your metrics are anonymized and go through our third-party Large Language Learning Model (“LLM”) partner. If WHOOP Coach identifies that you require additional support, you can opt in and have your support request automatically filed with our Membership Services team. WHOOP will only use any information from WHOOP Coach in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
