What WHOOP Knows About You, And How You Control It

WHOOP learns what matters to you, from your goals to your routines, to how you like to be coached. WHOOP uses that to give you guidance that applies to your life. And, now when you share something about your life, WHOOP remembers and reaches out instead of waiting for you to check.
My Memory is where all of that lives. You can see what WHOOP knows about your life, add details to make your coaching more relevant, or delete anything you don't want stored. Your context, your control.
See what shapes your coaching
My Memory shows the personal context behind your guidance, organized across categories:
- Goals: what you're working toward
- Identity: what makes you you – what you do day to day, your family, location
- Lifestyle: your routines and habits
- Preferences: how you want to be coached
- Events: what's coming up
- Health History: how conditions, injuries, or illnesses impact you
- Mood: how you feel day to day
When WHOOP reaches out about your Recovery, or your Daily Outlook recommends dialing back Strain, you can see the context behind that guidance.
Control what WHOOP remembers
Everything in My Memory is yours to manage. You can view it, add to it, edit it, Or remove it. You can also turn memory off entirely.
WHOOP automatically keeps your Memory up-to-date. As your life changes, WHOOP will remember temporary patterns or things about you, like past sickness, but won’t actively coach you on them.
More context, better coaching
The more WHOOP knows about you, the more personalized and timely your guidance becomes. Share a training goal, and it shapes your recovery recommendations. Mention an upcoming trip, and WHOOP adjusts your coaching ahead of time. Set a preference for direct, concise feedback, and every interaction reflects it.
This is what makes WHOOP more than a tracker. One system that remembers your reality, adapts to what's changing, and connects the dots across all aspects of WHOOP.
Your data stays protected
Your data remains private and protected. Conversations with WHOOP are not accessed without your consent, and your data is not stored with third parties. When you interact with WHOOP, your metrics are anonymized before processing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does WHOOP know about me?
WHOOP stores personal context in a feature called My Memory, organized into seven categories: Goals, Identity, Lifestyle, Preferences, Events, Health History, and Mood. This context shapes the coaching WHOOP gives you — from Recovery guidance to Daily Outlook recommendations. You can view everything WHOOP has stored by opening My Memory from your profile.
Can I delete what WHOOP remembers about me?
Yes. Everything in My Memory is under your control. You can view, add, edit, or remove any individual entry, and you can turn memory off entirely at any time. WHOOP also manages memory automatically — temporary patterns like a past illness are remembered for context but not actively used to coach you.
Is my WHOOP data private?
Conversations with WHOOP will not be accessed without your consent, and your data is not stored with third parties. When you chat with WHOOP, your metrics are anonymized before they go through our third-party Large Language Learning Model partner. You can read more about our privacy principles here.
