While many wearables show you data, WHOOP tells you what that data means for you. By translating your metrics into personalized guidance, WHOOP helps you move from awareness to action — so your daily habits can evolve into measurable improvements.

Every day, WHOOP measures hundreds of data points across Sleep, Recovery, and Strain, from your heart rate variability (HRV) and sleep architecture to your daily activity and real-time stress levels.

Behavior Insights connect those metrics to your logged habits.

Behavior Insights: Understand what your habits mean

Behavior Insights (formerly Recovery Insights) show how specific logged behaviors are associated with changes in your Recovery.

To view your insights, open your Journal and tap the Insights button at the top of the screen.

You’ll need to log at least 5 “yes” and 5 “no” entries for a behavior within a 90-day period to unlock analysis.

Once available, you can:

  • See how frequently a behavior appears
  • View how it’s associated with changes in Recovery
  • Tap into in-context explanations powered by WHOOP AI
  • Track how many more logs are needed to generate analysis

Keep in mind that behaviors are connected to your broader lifestyle. Sometimes results may reflect multiple factors happening at once — which is why consistency over time matters.

The more you log, the more clearly your patterns emerge.

Journal Trends make it easy to visualize how often you log behaviors and when they show up most.

Calendar views help you quickly spot:

WHOOP provides insights across Sleep, Strain, Recovery, and Stress. This includes daily performance scores, analysis of how specific behaviors from your Journal impact your Recovery, and long-term trends related to your cardiovascular health, including heart rate variability (HRV), and physiological age.

How do you check insights on WHOOP?

You can find your primary insights in several places. Daily Recovery, Strain, and Sleep scores are on the home screen. To see how your behaviors affect your Recovery, navigate to the Plan tab and tap 'Insights' at the top of the screen to view your Impacts from the Journal.

How do you see your behavior impacts?

To view your Behavior Impacts, open your Journal and tap the 'Insights' button in the top right corner. This will show how your logged behaviors influence your Recovery over time. You can also access this through the Recovery dial at the top of your home screen.
