Mark Morel is an experienced software industry entrepreneur who has built several very successful businesses. Most recently, he co-founded and grew Procuri until its acquisition by Ariba in late 2007. Prior to that he was co-founder and chief administrative officer of Just Care, Inc., a private medical prison company; founder, president, COO and board member of Multi-Media Data Systems, a healthcare software development firm; and president of Meridian VAT Reclaim Inc., the U.S. marketing arm of a multi-national financial services company. Mr. Morel began his career on Wall Street in the investment banking group of Shearson American Express, prior to leaving and starting his first company. Mark holds a degree in Economics from Tulane University and categorically denies any and all rumors that he frequented the French Quarter in New Orleans while at school. [-]
Steve has more than twenty-six years of experience in software design, development, rollout engineering and project management. He was CIO/CTO at Procuri where he led development of the industry's first Software as a Service (SaaS) sourcing and supply chain platform. Prior to Procuri, Steve was Vice President of Engineering and Technology for Multi-Media Data Systems. Steve has a degree in computer science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, has never actually seen the musical Oklahoma and communicates completely in binary code. [-]
Doug brings more than 10 years' leadership experience in the mobile space to Whoop, ranging from carrier product development to interactive television. Previously, Doug held business development and product management leadership roles with SpinVox, Amdocs and SinglePoint. Doug has also led product management and development for Verizon Wireless' text messaging portfolio, the company's most successful data product. From 2001-2003, Doug drove product development and strategy for third-party revenue at AT&T (then Cingular). An active participant in industry organizations, Doug has held multiple Board and Committee leadership positions with the Mobile Marketing Association, .MOBI and CTIA/WIC. A frequent speaker and industry panelist, Doug also played a key role in the introduction and explosive adoption of mobile communications in the 2008 presidential campaign. He was recently selected as a judge for the Mobile Marketing Association 2009 Global Awards. [-]
Tony is a software industry entrepreneur who has created and grown successful software businesses in the UK, Germany, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, South Africa and the U.S. He was a founder and CEO of the Xpertek Group, providing software for the international Finance and Banking sector. Prior to that he was a co-founder of ALG Software and built the North American operations of this Enterprise Performance Management Company. His career in the software industry began at Comshare, Inc. where he rose through a variety of senior sales management positions to be appointed to the European board of the company. Tony has a BA degree in Business Studies from De Montfort University in the U.K., sports a disarming English accent and looks strikingly similar to both Yul Brynner and Telly Savales for obvious reasons. Ms. Gunn has 20 years experience managing dynamic organizations within the technology, consulting and banking sectors. Prior to joining Whoop, Ms. Gunn was Senior Vice President, Customer Operations at Procuri. She was responsible for leading the professional services, best practice center operations, technical support and customer retention efforts for over 300 customers. Previously, Ms. Gunn held senior management positions with Infor, Aperum, Cotelligent and Knowledgeware where she focused on driving revenue growth and operational excellence to meet the needs of customers in sales, consulting and support. Ms. Gunn graduated with a BA in Economics from Boston College and a Master of Science in Management from Purdue University. [-]
A co-founder of Whoop, Demetrio possesses rare equilibrium in left and right-brained thinking and more than a decade of experience in the interactive and entertainment industries. Between winning awards for his own filmmaking, he served as Director of Interactive Client Services and Sales for a tier-1 managed hosting company while also coordinating the group's production pipeline. Projects include Warner Brothers, DreamWorks Music, Reuters America, Buffalo Wild Wings, National Lampoon, and the Digital Terrorism & Hate interactive CD-ROM report released by the Simon-Wiesenthal Center, a UN sponsored NGO, which annually garners international media attention. Demetrio is a University of Virginia graduate and received a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of San Diego on scholarship. He claims to have acted in half of Shakespeare's plays, but we think he just did soap operas. [-]
Mike has over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. He has worked with companies including: Hayes Microcomputers, Coca-Cola Enterprises, GT Software, and Procuri. As Corporate Controller he's worked with several technology companies where he managed all accounting, tax, audit, M&A, planning, and system implementations. A graduate of Wake Forest University he received his MBA from Georgia State University. [-]
Manuel's background includes more than 10 years of building and managing growth in top companies including Beyond IT, a software development company he co-founded in Argentina. Prior to Beyond IT, Manuel was Vice President of Business Development at BS Consulting Services, a software applications development and an IT outsourcing firm. Manuel was IT Manager for the Latin American region at The Thomas Cook Group, Inc., achieving sales in the Banking Comex industry of more than $100MM per year while managing development of Comex applications software operations in India, Brazil and Argentina. Manuel earned his BS in Marketing and Advertisement from the University of Social and Business Studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he mastered the salsa, tango and funky chicken dances. [-]

Mike Johnson's 25-year career as business owner and CPA spans an array of financial
positions. He was co-founder of Callaway Partners, a highly successful accounting
project management & contract labor firm that was sold in 2007. Mike has held CFO
positions in three small cap companies and conducted numerous merger and acquisition
deals. Along with full charge financial responsibilities he has been a key strategic
contributor to these operations.
Mike began his career in Big Eight public accounting, has headed up an internal
audit department and holds a BS in Accounting from the University of North Carolina
at Charlotte. He maintains one additional Board position. [-]
Joe Gorman is retired chairman and CEO of TRW Inc. and served as a member of Procter & Gamble's board for 14 years. Gorman is a current director of Alcoa Inc., and past director of National City Corporation and Imperial Chemical Industries plc. He has served on the boards of the U.S.-China Business Council and The Prince of Wales, International Business Leaders Forum. He received Japan's Prime Minister's Trade Award in 1994 for helping improve U.S.-Japanese trade relations. He was a trustee of the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Foundation and the Committee for Economic Development, and served as co-chairman of The Business Roundtable. He was a member of the President's Export Council, the Council on Foreign Relations, the President's Advisory Group of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The Business Roundtable's Policy and Planning committees and the National Bureau of Economic Research. Gorman was a founding member of the Ohio Governor's Education Management Council and a trustee of the New Ohio Institute. Gorman graduated from Kent State University and has a doctoral degree from Yale Law School. Gorman is an active venture investor and serves on the boards of several early-stage technology companies. Jeffrey Edell was most recently president and director of DIC Entertainment, a publicly-traded international global brand management and entertainment company dedicated to producing, distributing, marketing and merchandising family-based intellectual properties such as Strawberry Shortcake and Inspector Gadget. At DIC Entertainment, Edell helped successfully integrate the largest independent licensing business in Pan-Europe in Copyright Promotions Limited (CPLG), and founded and launched Kidsco, an independent Kids Cable Network, with partners Sparrowhawk Media (NBC/Universal) and Nelvana (Corus). His efforts culminated in the sale of DIC to Cinar parent, Cookie Jar Entertainment, in late 2008. Prior to DIC, Mr. Edell served as the president/CEO of Vertical Branding, Inc., a products/infomercial company, that he took public through a reverse merger in 2005. As chairman of Intermix Media (founding parent of social networking giant MySpace, among its 30 plus other on-line businesses), Mr. Edell helped to stabilize a delisted NASDAQ company, raise appropriate capital and obtain a relisting on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). Intermix was sold to NewsCorp in 2006 for approximately $700 million. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Edell was president/CEO of Soundelux Entertainment Group, a fully integrated entertainment content and services company, that won five Academy Awards and more than 50 Emmys, culminating in a sale to John Malone's Liberty Media Corporation. Mr. Edell also co-founded and was chairman/CEO of elabor.com, a privately-held software and technology company that was sold in two tranches to Microsoft and ADP. Edell has also held senior level positions with the Transamerica Group and in his family's publicly traded vitamin business prior to its sale in 2003. Mr. Edell obtained his CPA designation while working with the international accounting firm KPMG. Mr. Edell is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization since 1996. He was named Entertainment Entrepreneur of the year 2000 by NASDAQ and Ernst and Young. Mr. Edell obtained his Bachelors of Science in Commerce degree from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia with an emphasis on Accounting, Taxation and Law. [-]
Tull Gearreald is the chairman, president and CEO of Just Care, Inc., a private medical prison firm started with Morel in 1997. He was also the past chairman of Procuri, a strategic sourcing company which earlier this year was sold to Ariba for more than $100 Million. Prior to Just Care, he served as president and CEO of KinderCare Learning Centers, Inc. Gearreald's financial experience includes his co-founding of the Lodestar Group, an investment banking firm and seven years as Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch & Co. Gearreald received an AB degree from Yale University and an MBA degree, with distinction, from Harvard University. [-]
Joe Sims served as Vice President and General Manager for T-Mobile USA, initially leading T-Mobile's Wireless Broadband businesses: T-Mobile HotSpot and HotSpot@Home. Later Joe also led all value-added services including: T-Mobile Web2Go, content and third-party applications. Joe was also responsible for business development, strategic partnerships and investments, leading key new initiatives, including the "Google Phone", "Android" business. Joe joined T-Mobile with more than twenty years of senior management, consulting and business development experience in e-commerce; software, systems integration; telecommunications and Internet related businesses. Prior to joining T-Mobile, Joe served as Managing Director for Wireless Solutions at KPMG Consulting. Joe began his career at Xerox. [-]
